Hotel Rooms

Have just spoken to the Venue hotel. There are only 5 hotel rooms left that are reserved for wedding guests. In order to book one of those rooms you must quote our wedding code which is: 091219W2

The rest of the hotel is fully booked so get in fast if you plan to stay!

This blog is the official blog of Tom and Sarah’s Wedding.

It should contain all of the information you need. The easiest way to navigate the blog is to go to the category list which is to the right of this post. Each category has a number of blog entries which will hopefully answer any questions you may have. If not, don’t hestiate to contact either myself or Tom.

Please read all the posts on this blog! The venue has set some rules for things like confetti and bringing your own booze so it is a good idea to spend some time going through all this information before you arrive.

Stag/Hen Party Information

Hey Chaps and Chapettes

Paintballing begins at 9.00am on October the 17th for a full day of paintballing at Skirmish in Sherwood Forest.

The minimum cost for playing will be £25 (you have all already paid £10 of this so you’ll need to bring £15 on the day) which includes kit and 250 paintballs each (you can upgrade to a different level of kit/number of paintballs but it costs more). If you bring another £10 that should cover you for paintballs for the whole day without having to be stingy!

Lunch – It is a case of bring your own. There is a Macdonalds around the corner for the brave.

For those who have yet to book as you could only make the afternoon – you can just play for the afternoon and you need to be at the venue for a 1pm start.

The day ends at about 4.30pm.

After paintballing is over it will be time to head back to Sheffield. The girls are coming back to my house and the boys will be heading to Alex Gibbon’s abode and possibly Alex Amsel’s house (if that is still okay guys?).

I am booking a table at East One, a scrummy noodle/thai/ place for 8pm.

After that it is a bit of a free for all. If we have the stamina we can hit a few pubs and perhaps go for a spot of dancing.

Dress Code

The dress code for the wedding is Black Tie evening wear. You can wear a hat, crazy feathers or whatever other interesting accessories you like.

I expect you will be standing up and mingling a lot of the time, especially at the reception, so girlies wear your comfy shoes/heels!

Some photos will be taken in the garden after the ceremony so it would be a good idea for guests to bring something snuggly for wearing outside.

Stag/Hen Party

Tom and I have decided to be a bit weird and have a HAG party, rather than your standard Hen and Stag. Basically we are having a joint paintballing party on October the 17th followed by drinks at a lovely pub.

The cost will be about £30 a head for the paintballing.

Travel information

For those coming from a distance here are some handy things to know:

The nearest train station is Chesterfield Train Station. Chesterfield has only got one train station so you can’t go wrong there.

From Chesterfield train station you will probably need to get a cab to the hotel. I would say it is about a 10-15 minutes cab journey to the venue. Unfortunately I can’t seem to find any helpful information on buses to the venue.

For those coming by car; Ringwood Hall Hotel (the venue) is close to junctions 29 & 30 of the M1. Check out the hotel’s website for a detailed map of how to get there.

As I said before, anyone who would have serious problems getting to the venue just needs to contact me and I’ll try and arrange some help.

Confusion about the Minibus Service

Had a bit of feedback that my information about the mini bus service was a little unclear!

Just to clarify – there is an evening mini bus service to help guests get home or back to their hotel. There are two mini buses available for you to take. One goes to the Chesterfield travel lodge (as listed in the hotel for guests blog post) and the other goes to Sheffield city centre (near city hall). This is a free service that my mum has organised to ensure you all get home/to your hotel safely. It is very important that you let me know if you need to use the mini bus service as I have to inform the mini bus company how many people each bus has to carry well in advance.

Because there are lots of you coming from all over the country (and some from outside the country!) it is impossible for us to organise transport to the venue so you will have to put on your adventurer hats and find your own way there. If anyone has any major problems getting to the venue, let me know and I’ll see if I can be of any help.

Music

For those that don’t know, we have hired a casino for the evening reception. Don’t worry, you don’t bet with real money!

Whilst the evening casino is in full swing, there will be music playing in the background. If anyone would like to add some tracks to the wedding playlist please just drop me an email or post a comment here.

RSVP’s – Important, please read

In my gusto to send out the invites that I made (yup, hand made) I forgot to put my address on some of the RSVP envelopes included in the invite. If you are one of the lucky people who recieves an RSVP envelope without an address on it just give me a bell on my mobile number: 07791442762 or email me at sarahq(at)tunatech.com. You can RSVP by letting me know over the phone/email or I can give you my home address if needed. The RSVP envelopes are very small and I have no idea how the postal system will handle them. If in doubt do feel free to put your RSVP in a bigger envelope to send back. RSVP’s need to be returned as soon as you can so I can give the venue exact guest numbers.

VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ- Don’t forget, anyone requiring the minibus service (READ THE ‘HOTEL’S FOR GUESTS’ POST FOR MORE INFORMATION) to Sheffield City Centre (near city hall) or to the Chesterfield Travel lodge (see guest hotels) at the end of the evening needs to write either SHEFFIELD or CHESTERFIELD TL somewhere on their RSVP (preferably underneath RSVP on the back of the card). If you don’t let us know you need a lift by writing on your RSVP we cannot guarantee you a place on a minibus.
